Yes . . . sort of. If they are sheltered they have a good chance of survival. And only a few varieties. Not sure what these are, but the seeds scatter all over our yard and we’ve transplanted some of the seedlings with success. IF placed in the right spot!
No more petals to show, every fruit tree is at petal drop and showing fruit except for my citrus, which are loaded with blossoms this year. Should have a good crop of lemons, but they will not be ready until next year.
This year I will have two types of apricots, two type of peaches, (maybe two types of plums; mirabelles for sure), figs, cherries, and I’m watching my apples. I had to hand pollinate as I had so few fruiting spurs on my Gris du Canada. My Granny Smith is very slowly leafing out; a newcomer. Finished potting my two trees three days ago. Yesterday it rained which was great. We have had little rain this spring.
My strawberries are coming right along. Not one berry on my black currant. Second year in a row. Too much wind. Ugh!
It’s a much milder taste this year, too (almost no oxalate flavor), but still quite pleasant mixed with some other stuff from around the yard & garden. Nom nom nom…
Aha, I was working up to asking what the one bud that had the red finger like hairs coming out of my small tree was. Figured it was female, but have never had flowers on my Hazelnuts! Thanks!
