Simple things that grow and feed the ecosystem without me worrying about them…(unlike the fruit trees)
Adding clinopodium vulgare for anyone not familiar. It’s “wild basil” and man does it self seed quickly and fill in spaces as a wonderful beneficial flowering ground cover. It just went into bloom the last few days.
Hosui is so much nicer looking than Shinseiki.

my peaches aren’t in the safest place from squirrel but I’m hoping.
harvesting a lot of mulberry and raspberry now. two gooseberries. and millet ripening and my pickled radish jars for the summer. the pods pickled are so good little crunchies and then I do baby beets with baby radish for side snacks with a sandwich and chips.

Not pictured here, but I got a few Flavor Grenade pluots go all the way red ripening more inside and tried them…damn to me they tasted a lot like a nectarine!
I’ll try it again with some of these. I’m letting them ripen from this stage on the counter.
On the tree they will pack more flavor and sweetness.
I’m sure…but the birds break the skin if I keep them for longer.
I’ll net the tree next year for sure.

Flavor Grenade Pluot are tasty enough for me at this stage. With their crunch I bet they would be good in a tart or pie.
Edit: Underripe but edible. I’d imagine it would be perfect for use in galbi marinade.
