Recently I acquired new scionwood from the USDA ARS GRIN program. There were 4 of these varieties they were out of sciowood for this year but I still listed the description below. Many of these new varieties are so rare there are merely scraps of information available about them. I think many of these will be exceptional! According to his friend Ben Watson, Tom Burford, “Professor Apple,” passed away yesterday. A giant in the apple and cider world. Tom lived to a ripe old age but still had many books and projects in the works.
