Lowest branch height is 6’. Squirrels can jump 5-6’ from ground! These trees also needed to branch high to be deer-proof.

Squirrels have been coming by several times a day to pick a green plum, take a bite and throw it down. The discarded plum actually hit the trap I set once.
For some reason, Video camera alarm not triggered by squirrels visit, but by wind blowing the tree leaves.
I have put up some sort of baffle yesterday afternoon, this morning these plum With color are still there. That’s progress, right?
I will remember not to worry about too many fruits may break the branch no matter how overloaded the tree looked like at late spring/early summer😔
Actually, there are other trees nearby they could jump from and some branches of this plum tree are also low. Maybe the squirrels haven’t figured it out yet. Will see how long this will last.
