Well, if it’s this bad yearly, I’ll cut down all the red cedar (juniperus virginiana) that I’ve allowed to grow nearby. They definitely had the disease this spring.

I would do that here, but my neighbors would complain as they are on their property. And I’ll have to take out 100s to make a difference.

I’ve not noticed Granny Smith getting CAR that bad. (It gets everything else though.) Anoka is my worst. I don’t have a Yellow Delicious anymore, but it got it bad. Fuji is always healthy looking. One I still haven’t positively or certainly identified (it’s “not Macintosh”), is my healthiest tree and a regular bearer.
I’ve not seen the red fleshed apples come down with a bad case either.
