Cedar apple rust resistant trees

Well, if it’s this bad yearly, I’ll cut down all the red cedar (juniperus virginiana) that I’ve allowed to grow nearby. They definitely had the disease this spring.

I would do that here, but my neighbors would complain as they are on their property. And I’ll have to take out 100s to make a difference.

I’ve not noticed Granny Smith getting CAR that bad. (It gets everything else though.) Anoka is my worst. I don’t have a Yellow Delicious anymore, but it got it bad. Fuji is always healthy looking. One I still haven’t positively or certainly identified (it’s “not Macintosh”), is my healthiest tree and a regular bearer.

I’ve not seen the red fleshed apples come down with a bad case either.
