The problem with the Dunstans, especially Revival, and some other varieties like Qing, is that they can have delayed graft union failure. Your tree can be doing fine for 5 or 10 years or even 15 years and then the graft starts dying. It’s not clear why that happens, but it’s probably one of the reasons why Bob Wallace doesn’t sell grafted Revival trees any more. The only problem with Nolin River is that they don’t have much variety in their chestnut trees. They only recently started selling Qing.
