Crazy thready, im not used to seeing citrus on trees at all being born & raised in Michigan.
My key lime, meyer lemon and blood orange are all in bloom in the dining room and the fragrance is intoxicating! ‘slicko’ your citrus looks fabulous!
Thanks mrsg . I have been playing with citrus unsuccessfully for some years but fortunately hit upon what they need a few years ago thanks to forums like this one where people are generous with their knowledge and support. Consequently all the citrus in my suburban backyard are doing well and giving generously.

I have to admit that when citrus come into bloom the fragrance is amazing. I enjoy immersing myself in it in the backyard but can only imagine what it would be like to have a room full of trees all in bloom. Quite heady I’d expect!

Heavenly!
For those that are lamenting not growing citrus. Have any of you checked out satsuma mandarins ?
Sunburst tangerines are finally sweetening up out of Florida.
Fresh-squeezed tangerine with a depth-charge of Montmorency cherry juice cut with ice-water.
Getting my Vitamin-C on:
yeah tangerines are all over the place down here right now…you’ll drive down the road and see signs in yards where people are selling their citrus…still waiting for my valencia and flame grapefruit to finish ripening…it’s taking a little longer than I expected… a couple of pics of my flame red…they’re heavy suckers
Have heard aussie finger limes have tirpines in them no where found else in the citrus world
I just returned from a trip to Arizona visiting family. Temps there in the 70s. High of 23 F upon my arrival back home. Tonight’s low will be 10 F. Brrr.
While in Arizona, I ate a lemon straight. Right off their tree. No sweeteners. Just cut it open, and sucked the juice out of every vesicle. I gnawed on it like a wild animal. Then I sat in the sun for hours. Winter drives me crazy.
For backyard gardeners in temperate climates a single lemon or lime produces more fruit than the homeowner and their neighbors can consume. Presently I have dozens of fruits rotting on the ground.
Wow Richard, I’d be squeezin’ and freezin’ in ice cube trays then dumpin’ in ziplocs for a nice summers drink.
At the very least you can take them to whatever church is engaged in feeding the homeless folks. I know you grow beautiful fruit and they would greatly appreciate it.
Always wanted to go to the desert in the winter. I’m guessing you were in Phoenix—Tucson area? To me 60Fs/70Fs for high temps is perfect. Lots of snowbirds around here that go to AZ/TX and Florida in the winter. In summer i see so many Florida license plates around here…probably more FL plates then Iowa!
Eating lots of grapefruit from Texas…delicious and cheap right now. 5lbs for $2.50…not sure how they pick them and ship them at that price!
Well, I have at least two trays full so far. With 3+ annual crops each of limes and lemons it’s hard to keep up
50¢ a pound is a bargain.
