Clarkinks pear varieties growing in the orchard in 2023

Hi,

Is your small yellow pear the same one being sold at St Lawrence nursery? They have a small pear listed called Clark pear. Wanted to make sure it’s the same variety. Thanks

I wish I knew but unfortunately I do not. My guess would be that is my small yellow pear. I would give them a call and ask them the history

Senator Clark shows up a few times online. I don’t know anything about it other than the name.

Everybody has to make a living somehow… Even Clark. You would think he would scuff his toe a bit and look embarrassed when admitting it.

Adding detail for Senator Clark pear.

SENATOR CLARK
This pear originated in the Selma, Alabama Area. It produces large annual crops of large and very juicy fruit. The fruit is (4 in. wide & 2.8 in. long) yellowgreen color with some russet when ripe. This is a very hardy tree that has shown no sign of leaf spot or fire blight. The fruit ripens in early to mid October. Fruit drop will continue for 3 to 4 weeks.
