Comparing led grow lights to other types

I start pawpaws and tomatoes in my basement. I had been using basic 4-foot shop fixture fluorescent bulbs until the ballasts wore out. I did a simple re-wire to convert to LED. Bought daylight LED bulbs and they work just fine, with plants looking good. The only difference is that the LED bulbs do not produce as much heat in my cool basement so I add some heat with a heat lamp at times.

how large of an area are you wanting to light? i do have some led lights that i have built that i currently don’t use. are you wanting to light a single layer or shelves or what exactly?
