Corn yields exceed 616.20 bushels per acre

In Indiana the corn has very high yields this year. it’s a top year for farmers.

i got corn growing in my garden that i didn’t even plant, i suspect it came from my scratch feed i give my hens as treats.

Good yields are nice. But it often leads traders to reduce the commodity price.

Good point, althought the article notes: "Farming within the Chesapeake Bay region requires some of the strictest nutrient management rules in the country, and Hula isn’t interested in wasting nutrients.

“We’re not just dumping excess fertilizer,” he said. “I am return-on-investment driven. I will give a corn crop a luxury feed, but only if it will respond. So we focus on when you can influence the crop the most.”
So closely monitored applications - he does sound like someone who is a really great plant watcher!
