Yes, me too. Not my favorite, but I probably buy more cosmic crisp than any other Apple. I love apples. I eat a lot of them. They are the most inexpensive apple I can buy usually $.99 a pound sometimes $.89.
I too have been disappointed by comic crisp apples purchased at my local stores. The ones that I see and have purchased were nothing to brag about and left me wondering where they shipped the good ones to. I read all the hype and saw the pictures and tried to order a couple of trees. Nope you can’t buy any trees to be shipped to NY. Needless to say I was pretty miffed about that. Well as time has gone by I am less miffed since the ones I see in my local stores has dulled my pain from being denied of trees.
I know this topic mentions that the trees are available only in the state of Washington but that is not totally true. The truth is that they are restricted in North America but are available in Europe and either Australia or New Zealand. Seems as though I read an article in Good Fruit Grower about planting thousands or maybe millions of trees there. Now I’m miffed again. ![]()
Guess I will go to Walmart or Aldi’s tomorrow and look at their comic crisp apples.![]()
