Well here where i grow them in 6B/7A or whatever they are calling it now… in July/Aug i have to fight SWD, yellowjackets, wasps, stinkbugs (maybe some snakes) and honestly i dont really want to wait until evening to pick berries that have been in the heat all day. I do grow late ripening ones for novelty… even Black Satin but those desires are fading as im just harboring all the above pests and their populations grow… not to mention RCB.
My hobby has turned into a chore on all late ripening ones… and im losing interest.
Immaculate- is for folks that ‘have been wanting a late fruiting berry’ and Celestial is much later than that…
I have not grown any of the new releases except for Galaxy, Eclipse and Twilight and all to me seemed various twists on Triple Crown… i have removed them all.
Dont let me dissuade you… if its interesting or you want to try it then by all means try it.
But for me anything below Osage is just novelty really… i usually have already picked enough to do everything i want by then. The rest is just trial and error really.
