I got the idea from Stefan at Miracle Farms … one of his youtube vids … he was using old plastic oil cans.
I went to walmart and bought some cheap plastic bottles like above… about a buck each.
I drilled 4 or 5 (3/8 inch holes) near the top of the container… for the CMs to enter by.
Other critters small enough do get in there… but 3/8 inch will let CMs in… but not honey or bumble bees or most butterflies.
Anything attracted to molasses and small enough gets in and drowns.
I see CMs in there and some other smaller critters.
My Novamacs have looked like this the past two years since I started using the traps.
No spray.
I put one trap on each scaffold branch. 4 traps total. My Novamac is trained espellar.. so only has 4 scaffold branches.
