Do you wish for winter to go by fast so you can get back to business?

Yes. Yes I do

In my climate, winter is just another part of the growing season. Fall is time to plant garlic, brassicas, peas, and all the other cool-season crops. It’s the only time of year where, if the rains don’t fail, you can just plant things and stand back to watch them grow. You can usually tell who is a recent transplant from the East by how they leave their vegetable beds empty over the winter.

Most of the weeds here come up with the fall/winter rains, so late winter is a much busier time than summer for weed management. Plus, with all the pruning to do in the vineyards I manage, winter is just as much work as the rest of the year.
