Experience? Currant, Gooseberry, Serviceberry, Bush Cherry

I planted an autumn brilliance at my parents house in the fall. Hopefully it’s not a rust magnet :face_with_spiral_eyes:

i spray my serviceberry when the fruit starts to color up with immunox . takes care of the rust problem. in drier years i dont need to.

Nice! I’ve heard that there are regional strains of rust, so a variety that doesn’t get rust in one place might be more susceptible in another. Fingers crossed for you!!

They are not as prone to rust, but not immune.

Mine did the exact same thing last year! No growth except a few leaves but this year, it’s exploded with growth

Yeah last year it was basically 6 leaves the entire year. Now it’s growing, I’m like woooo :partying_face:

Just hope nothing decides to use it as lunch

I’ve been picking sawfly larva off with a burnt, hot piece of wood then setting them on fire

That sucks about the sawfly :frowning:

Sounds like me last year and the aphids on my honeyberries. I was smashing hundreds of them.

Sounds more difficult than just squishing them with your fingers. You could also spray them with soapy water.

I don’t wanna touch them lol

Sounds like burning the sawfly at the stake
