I got them from an orchard in western CT (website listed below). I think that they noted that they didn’t grow them but that they had received them from a grower in NY possibly as part of a taste test evaluation (Two of Clubs Orchard in Niagara County in Western New York seems to be the grower). The CT orchard has a lot of heirloom varieties and some recently developed varieties. Per the website they have the following available at the farm stand: Varieties available at Farm Stand: Honeycrisp, Gala, McIntosh, Cortland, Autumn Crisp, Fuji, Firecracker, Cox Orange pippin, Crimson Crisp, Macoun, Cordera, Jonagold, Rosalee, Northern Spy, Ashmead’s Kernel, Hudson Golden Gem, Empire, Wickson, Pink Lady, Esopus Spitzenburg, Newtown Pippin, Mutsu, Golden Russet.
I was there today and got lucky that they actually still had some of the Kissabel left even though it wasn’t listed on the website. I made the trip to get Northern Spy, Golden Russet, Wickson and Cox Orange pippin but the Kissabel were too tempting to not get a bunch to try. Two years ago, I did an apple tasting around this time of year for some of the varieties Apple Tasting Notes (bought from farm stand) - General Fruit Growing - Growing Fruit
