Nice! that russeting around the outer circumference of the Red On Red reminds me of the Bakran. They also look kinda small like Bakran. Not as dark of skin though…

For those interested in growing out some potentially diverse red-fleshed apple seedlings, the Experimental Farm Network is offering red-fleshed cider apple seed mix from Dr. Amy Miller’s work:

Do I need more apple seeds? No. Did I buy a pack? Yes.

Buying more apples seeds to germinate out- that’s the spirit!

I bought some Red Flesh OP seeds from Skillcult & a bunch of additional others along with the unique apples I come across & germinate those. Its going to be Applepalooza Seeds here!

Tried my first Lucy Rose apples and was impressed by them.

Looking to buy Lucy Glo and Lucy Rose Scions or trees…
What’s the best source? I can only find gurneys and they seem pricey, but I’m going to order with them unless someone has a better option to point me towards.

Restoring eden, burnt ridge? And cummins i think each had some

Just realized you may have been asking about the Red Vein Crab, not the Winekist. I have the Red Vein Crab on B.118, it may have required temporary staking for a year or two. My dwarf trees I do stake with T-Posts, when they need it. I don’t generally stake them until they show they need it. My dwarfs are mostly B.9 and G.214. Semi-Dwarfs I treat the same.

270 of my 1,900 varieties have red, orange or pink flesh. Not my crosses.

Hi Copious! Any idea how Ruby Tuesday does with scab so far?

Seemed clean from what I recall. It’s a young tree thats only been in the ground for a year though. I’ll keep an eye on it this year.
