False.

Hey Richard, what would your suggestion/diagnosis be? I plan to add some calimagic and spray neem

Bought and applied some calimagic tonight

In just one day the disease is advancing a lot

Hopefully the last healthy leaf stays healthy. I’ll apply calimagic to my mix from now on before rooting

Idk what richard thinks it is, maybe hell bless us with the knowledge, but yeah if i have no calcium in my mixes the leaves come out like this. It doesnt happen anymore now that i add it. The new leaves will hopefully look better.

Ooh, a raspberry flavored varietyyy! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Yummm. I’m new to figs, so have just started a bunch of cuttings this month, and I sought out primarily berry figs like Figo Preto and the like. That Makedonia Dark is one I hadn’t heard of.

Thanks, Richard! I just got cuttings for: Cosme Manyo, Craven’s Craving, Italian 258, Azores Dark, Ponte Tresa, Cherry Cordial, Bourjasotte Grise, Bordissot Negra Rimada, Campaniere, Borda Barraquer, Figo Preto, Col de Dame Blanca Negra, Col de Dame Mutante, Martinenca Rimada, Thermalito, Israeli-7, Logue d’Aout, and Margarita.

I also got a rooted Petit Negri, Latterula, and Angelito.

I already have a Panache Tiger, Smith, Marseille Black VS, Ronde de Bordeaux, Violette de Bordeaux, Yellow Longneck, Green Ischia, and an LSU Purple. *But aside from the Panache and Yellow LN, I’m not sure which is which because I neglected to label them when I got them last year…

:sweat_smile::sweat_smile: I know, Richard, I know. (Facepalm) Let’s just say, when I got an itch, I gotta scratch it. HARD. Like last year and my 16 mango varieties…

But 30 or so figs seem kinda normal, right? I heard many folks have collections of over 100.

See? Snarfing has over 100! :face_without_mouth::rofl:

As of January 2025, there were 2,318 fig cultivars circulating in the U.S. You have a ways to go.

My shock emoticon () was regarding not labeling your inventory.

LOLOLOLOLOL. Ah, about that. I’ve been gardening for about 5 years now, and I’m still kinda working on remembering to label things… like the 3 trays of seeds I sowed and tried to add labels two weeks after I sowed them, lol. Yes, it would have been smarter to put the labels in beforehand. Anywhoo, I will put labels on all the new fig cuttings I’m rooting now!

tell me about it. i regret every day forgetting what honeybery cultivars i have. every other plant i have is labeled but i walk by those two and i just dont know who they are. it haunts me

How long generally does it take for your fig trees to show signs of coming out of dormancy and what should I be looking for? I did check some of my smaller potted trees and 3 out of the 5 were gone, the base of the tree was mushy and the roots fell off but the other 2 seemed sturdy and had large root balls. I left my other trees alone because I’m worried about stunting them by messing with the roots.

I’m new to the fig shuffle. Mine has already started to come out of dormancy and some small bebra crop in my basement (50F). I’m thinking of moving it outside, but when do you move it back inside? I don’t see anything forecast below the occasional high-30s over the next two weeks, and I have an alert setup to email me if temps are forecast to drop below 35F any night. If it’s high 30s to low 50s next two weeks, is that fine for a fig that’s been a bit warmer than that in basement and breaking out?
