Found a way to use up my aronia

We make a juice with aronia and Concord grapes. As we use a steam juicer, it’s quite thick. I like to cut it with equal parts sparkling lemon water. Very refreshing!
We also add them to a jelly we call Super Black, which is a mix of all our black fruits: black berries, aronia, black raspberry, elderberries, and black currants.

that sounds really good also. if my Marquette grape fruits for me this year, ill try it out.

it was a accident but i had planned to try it anyway so it worked out great. i have so much aronia frozen it would be such a waste to just feed it to the chics.

Speaking of grapes, a significant problem with many hybrid wine grapes, is that they don’t leave enough tannins in the finished wine. I wonder if adding a bit of aronia juice to the mix would boost the soluble tannins in the finished wine? It also may help stabilize color when that is an issue. Too much aronia flavor in the wine may not be desirable, but there may be an acceptable ratio that improves the wine, without angering the wine snobs too much.

Aronia juice would absolutely solve that problem, with a red wine. I think Aronia and Grape would just taste like fruiter grape. Aronia and apple on the other hand make the apple taste like wine.

did apple wine with about 1/4 per total volume of aronia and it was delicious. kept the sugar the same as in the apple wine recipe. i bet it would be awesome with concord grapes. i may try a strait batch of aronia but that might wind up being too dry and astringent for my taste but i could always cut it with a good port for balance.

Ever think of adding any SALT to juice for drinking ?

Do you ever Use tiny measuring cups, and try samples with measurements of ML . ?

then Mix bigger batches.
I’ve done that (but also all in the same pot I like correcting mix ups )

I wonder if Aronia could be good for a savory dish
or marinating meat
I am pretty sure I’ve heard that.

(about mixing little batches some things do not seem right, but they mix up good)

I recently mixed a tad of homemade sour Yogurt with no salt (or anything else)
with bean juice and beans (no salt) , and it brought a nice savory saltiness
also had Mayo (store bought), and a pinch of garlic powder
(I mean a dusting barley any and subtle )
all into blender ,

but the sour yogurt brought the best flavor which I added last
even though it was such A tiny amount.

Also Might be nice to add chilli pepper like the candy found in Mexican stores
I am starting to love the pepper coated plums .

MAybe roll up some sweet fruit with aronia,
and roll it in chilli powder ,
and powdered lime like the mexican candy.
