One of Edholm’s seedlings that I’m growing out. It was listed as winter open pollinated so who knows what it will be like but I’m enjoying it for the veining and deep colored leaves anyhow. Aphids do favor it over other seedlings feet away.

what about next year’s fruit? I’ve recently been into starting fruit trees from seed, and for tropical fruits, even jujube, I’m hearing that the fruit changes as the tree becomes more mature. Have you tried waiting or does anyone know?
It is true that seedling fruit will evolve, you need a few years to see the full potential. But at least for mine they did not radically change from the first year.
This year I have two apple seedlings fruiting for the first time. One of them has really big apples, it’s my first seedling with bigger than average fruit size.

good to know, never made it further than a seedling, but trying again. I recently started Envy from seed, fingers cross it will taste similar or better!
