Me too. Unfortunately, my wife has other thoughts. I think she thinks we have plenty of fruit trees in the back yard, so that oak stays. She did allow me to remove one close to the house, so that was a win for the house.

Any updates?
My updateā¦ I donāt know what I am going to have. All I know is that I am 100% sure that it was a peach seed from one of my other trees. I saw the seed sprout myself in the mulch. The seed was still hanging on the roots.
Anyway the resulting fruit has very smooth skin. Donāt know if the fruit will get big or edible yet.

Does look like a nectarine. I had a tree that was suppose to be a peachā¦ and ended up a nectarineā¦ I was ok with thatā¦ I like nectarines 
Sorry for not getting back sooner. The tree is still doing great, I just pruned it back to 6tf tall. The few fruit that were on it have shriveled and donāt look like they are going to make it this yearā¦Iāll try and get a pic this weekend

The tree is doing good. It has just a bit of leaf curl. It had a nice bloom this year but frost got most of the blossoms. It looks like it has just one fruit. We are supposed to get heavy rain and wind this weekend so Iām not too optimistic about the lone fruit making it to ripeness.
