I like the fact that it’s a relatively small plant and that it’s nitrogen fixing, but as an edible is it really remarkable?

I wouldn’t say remarkable but I find the tannic mix in the flavor to be unique enough to warrant trying. I shared my thoughts on it recently here

If so, are seedlings high enough quality, or only certain cultivars?

I would stick with the large fruited cultivars, but that’s just me. carmine/tilamook or raintree select.

short answer - it is super easy to grow, no spray, and tastes pretty good.
