Grafting kit yea or nay

Thanks for the input. It just happened and it grew well last season. It’s not something I have aimed to do.

This was a quick sticks found on the ground for an example with minimal effort. I do t even know what kind, the one I showed. But if I tried to match the diameter the scion would be 60 feet in the air for a typical shooting off water spout. The idea I had (and not tried) was specifically for apple water spouts. Cut it off close to the tree and tap into that vigor. Clinching it down is the easy part.
Not ideal but the cambium line up on the backside too because of the angle if you leav it a tad longer than normal.


Chickadees could hump on there and it would not move.
