Grafting shears

I see them for sale a lot. The q-blade seems like a nice, very quick alternative to whip and tongue. Has anyone used one of these shears? How does it do on differing sizes of wood?

Don’t know what a “q-blade” is but here is a grafting tool thread:

The banggood link seems to be bad.

The Q blade cuts a jigsaw puzzle like piece on the wood joint end. Allowing you to quickly lock scion to rootstock. No slipping. No cutting toward yourself. And looking like it might greatly cut down graft breakage.

That zenport tool is the best one I’ve used.
BUT a regular grafting knife has been more versatile and easier overall for me.

I have not used such tools, but I can say and agree with Ram, there is nothing more versatile that a good quality grafting knife. You can find a good quality Victorinox grafting knife online for a fraction of most other tools. This is what I use for budding, and all other grafting tasks. I sharpen it only once a year and it’s always been what I rely on.

I do not think it should replace a grafting knife. I myself used to sell Opinel knives among others. In fact selling knives at markets was how I met my wife.

Mostly carbon steel utility and pocket knives. Plus some other good ss alloy pieces.
