Last year I sprayed Bt early, before the end of petal fall, and spinosad after petal fall, and kept them under control. Two years ago was our worst year, and the numbers were in multiple thousands of those I picked off by hand. Neither taping the bottom of trees and adding sticky stuff or any kind of trap was effective.
