How to get rid of mosquitos from your garden?

I use this Mosquito Dunk to prevent them from using my water barrels for breeding grounds, works very well. It is safe for birds, fish, humans. Can be used in any body of water. Lasts 30 days, 1 dunk covers 100sq ft of water surface. I use just a small piece of it in the barrel.

Same here. The county gives a set of dunks to each household (pick them up at the library or county ofc). I think this is an alternative to spraying which the local AirForce base did on a regular basis.
I use open containers of water for many things, like rain storage barrels, a deep bin for soaking shiitake logs, drowning basins for you know what, for washing stuff before bringing them in, and general washing of gardening items. So a small piece of the dunks in each of these helps.

Throw some of those dunks up in your eaves troughs, too.

Not sure if they your area has Purple Martin’s but they are the natural solution to mosquito’s here in the South. Put up a purple Martin bird house. Attracting birds that feed on insects is usually the best solutions and it build diversity in your garden/ orchard. Go easy on the chemicals.

I tore out a row of wild plums this fall to get more air flow through the orchard to lessen the clouds of mosquitoes. Now I just need to keep everything else knocked down enough. But, I might still need to work in the warmer periods of the day when the mosquitoes aren’t as happy. We have a good bunch of barn swallows that might help with the mosquitoes. I let them live their lives in the old barn, messy as they are, with the hopes that they are trying to help me out.

Getting close to mosquito time again. I’m researching all the possible prevention. I get the Tiger mosquito during the day and other types morning and late day.
Here’s some facts on how far they travel:
ā€œMosquito species preferring to breed around the house, like the Asian Tiger Mosquito, have limited flight ranges of about 300 feet. Most species have flight ranges of 1-3 miles. Certain large pool breeders in the Midwest are often found up to 7 miles from known breeding spots. The undisputed champions, though, are the saltmarsh breeders - having been known to migrate up to 100 miles in exceptional circumstances, although 20 to 40 miles are much more common when hosts are scarce.ā€
