Hey dax, I think you nailed it. Do coleus smell terrible?
I’ve never smelled one and boy I spent maybe 5-years of my life working in garden centers and smelled a lot of stuff.

Coleus is part of the mint family. I’ve always thought is had a pleasant odor, but that’s highly subjective.
It does look like coleus except for the leaf shape, but then again, there are many cultivars. 
I hate to be contrary, but I don’t think it’s a coleus. I’ve seen a similar annual before, but I never bother to learn the names of most annuals.
I’d say I’ll look, but all gardening is non-essential here, evidently…
