In need of an expert’ opinion on pawpaw seeds

I stopped reading after the 3rd reply: yup, what they said. How fresh are the seeds, how stored (moisture or not), how badly do you want to see the space fill-in, price, etc.
Just forage in Sept and get tons of fresh seeds & plant them. I was sowing em right after eating. They germinate too well so I stopped sowing! :upside_down_face::slightly_smiling_face::farmer:t3:

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I just bought 1 lb. of Jerry Lehman seed and I was about to plant it all over the woods. Now I’m going to wait till they grow a few inches and transplant them.

When I do transplant to the woods, I plan on planting them next to hickories since that’s where I’ve seen wild ones growing.

Would planting them next to Magnolias and Redbays be a good idea? I have asimina parviflora and asimina angustifolia growing on my property as well. Would my trilobas grow well with the other asimina species?

Well, that’s how I’d do it, too (eat and plant, eat and plant!), but if you don’t have any trees or fruit to start with, then it gets a little more complicated. I think I’d also want to pay attention to the qualities of the parent seeds/fruits as far as size, flavor, number of seeds in each fruit, etc.
