The fruit itself looks like NZ Lemonade but maybe a little bigger
Wish I had a picture of the leaf. Tree must have been quite large based on the quantity of fruit from a single tree.
As for the size of the fruit it’s quite large. The picture is a bit deceiving, but that’s a medium sized plate and the fruit is somewhat larger than a navel orange. Seeds were large.

Any chance of getting seed from some of the fruit? Would love to grow an apomictic seedling.

It looks like Oroblanco, and considering the way my grandfather raved about tree ripened grapefruits, I imagine that the flavor could be as you described them.
Even though oroblanco is from the US, Marsh Grapefruit x sweet pomelo, it’s only really popular here in Russia and in Japan, I guess the green skin scares American and European customers away, but here people see it as exotic, not under-ripe and green. The flavor is generally low acid, mildly sweet, minimally bitter, and refreshing, it’s advertised as the lowest calorie sweet citrus and as a diet food, the peel though is extremely fragrant and sometimes if you peel one in a long strip, the smell can fill your kitchen so much that you have to leave to breath fresh air, I made marmalade with the peels and it gave me a sore throat for like 5 day, I think it was to blame, it certainly was the second time, but that might have been psychosomatic.
You might also check Marsh grapefruit if it’s not a Sweetie (Oro blanco).
