We never had trouble with birds but our dog sure liked to graze the berries he could reach! He would wait patiently for me to drop berries whenever I was harvesting from the ‘Standing Ovation’.
Birds might be more of an issue at this new house, but we’ve only just moved in this autumn and probably won’t get serviceberries planted again til next spring or fall.
I can’t decide what to make of this. I do like serviceberries. But cedar waxwings are one of my favorite birds. They look like an oil painting! Choices choices.
They are very pretty, but feathered pigs. Scouts show up and then come back with their friends and clean us out.
This one of my fave pics of them. It was pissed off that the haskap bushes were mostly netted ( and that I only uncovered them after each was picked) and very suspicious of me and my camera.
