Katy Apricot in Vista CA

5/3. Being an apricot, of course it came back after that pruning like a madman in our climate! So today I removed whips from the bottom of scaffolds, other whips that were racing towards the perimeter of the tree ring or the 10+ ft level, plus a few crossing the diameter of the tree. I left on all the short branches from last year – several are bearing fruit. I also left on new, short, less aggressive shoots which will hopefully add to fruit bearing wood next year.

Your tree is huge, did you get fruit last year? Looks like you left some fruiting wood in your Dec 22 trim.
