5/3. Being an apricot, of course it came back after that pruning like a madman in our climate! So today I removed whips from the bottom of scaffolds, other whips that were racing towards the perimeter of the tree ring or the 10+ ft level, plus a few crossing the diameter of the tree. I left on all the short branches from last year – several are bearing fruit. I also left on new, short, less aggressive shoots which will hopefully add to fruit bearing wood next year.
