I cant stand gloves, so I wear them as infrequently as possible. I mainly only gloves in the dead of winter, to keep my hands warm. But I take them off when I work. I cant feel what i’m gripping and have to sqeeze extra hard to hold on to something, plus it’s near impossible to manipulate any thing small with gloves on. The inside of my hands are callused, so it takes a lot to scratch or cut them anyways.
I also do not wear rings or a watch for saftey reasons. I got my wedding ring caught on a peice of equipment and thought it was going to tear my finger off before I got it loose. My finger swelled up something awful, I had to have my wife cut the wedding ring off. That was over 20 years ago and I haven’t worn a ring since then and never will again they are too dangerous.
My wife bought me a bunch of cheap silcon rings. But they dont last long before I tear them off my finger or loose them. My wife found a chicken playing with one in the chicken coop the other day. So now I have another one to loose again. I guess it fell off my finger when I was haying the hen house with my favorite pitchfork several weeks ago.
I don’t wear any jewelry at all, it gets gunked up or can be dangerous
I wear the nitrile coated fabric gloves for most things but I wear them out fast. the fingertips mostly. I ruined a pair of leather gloves in a day once too moving a whole truck chip drop by myself- I wore through the good leather gloves; I blistered on top of my calluses and the blisters popped inside the gloves, I switched to the coated gloves and bandages and wore through those too
my hands were beat for like a week
