Sorry to hear that. But yes, it has been unusually windy here too the last several days.
Hi? How you call a Myrobalan Plum x Apricot hybrid? Plumcot or other name?
Thanks!
Plumcot or I could also use my own traded name.
Here it is.
I named seedling number one “Jaune Gold”.
Taste: Myrobalan plum with apricot-after taste.
Flesh: Between Myrobalan plum and apricot.
Awesome looking fruit. Personally I would pass on the “Jaune” part of the name. I know why you went that way, but I think it might have a negative conotation associated with the medical condition jaundice.
Nice to see your seedlings producing such nice fruit. How about a few pics with a quarter for a more effective size comparisson.
Again congrats @itheweatherman.
They look clingseed, more like plums
Very nice. How large is the tree or is it a graft?
Six feet on its own roots.
Here they are again.
I picked them on July 19th at their peak of ripeness. This is a very unique fruit with overwhelmingly amount of juice, a mango-like flesh, with the skin having the tartnes of the Myrobalan plum and the flavor between a mango and an apricot.
What a fun looking fruit! How was bloom time in regards to apricot or plum bloom time?
I hope you name and introduce this, attractive and sounds very tasty. ![]()
Wanting to share seeds?
I’d be very curious what some seedlings from it would turn out either self pollinated or not.
It blooms around the same time as its pollen parent.
