Metal Raised Beds

Good for peppers, not tomatoes because it dries out so fast. I have the tall one and man it dries out quickly. Good soil with perlite, compst on top with heavy straw layer on top it all… still doesnt matter and im in Ohio. The tall metal ones with space beneath the soil cooks the soil in direct sun. At least from my experience.

how is everyone irrigating with these

I’ve got soaker hoses for the treeline, long corn/sorghum and bean bed, and the front…all the in ground stuff. this will be my first year with raised beds so I’m trying to figure out the simpler way.

I’m better at using a hand crank timer on a soak hose, if i water by hand it’s never enough. sprinkler from above is no good, too many trellisrs and trees block the spray.

Tarter Gate, hands down the most durable metal garden bed I’ve come across. Rolled metal edge on top, available in 6 or 8 foot lengths. The only drawback is they dry out exceeding fast, an irrigation system was a must if you have a lot of territory to cover. I found that out early on!
