I’m at the point of wanting to pare down my fig collection. I’ve never done a good job cataloging what fruits well for me, which will start this year and I’m hoping to have less than a dozen within 5 years. (from a high of almost 50)
My figs almost all spend winters in a canning room in my cellar. It requires me carrying them through 2 rooms, down a flight of stairs and into the back of my basement, then back out again in the spring (this year the out again occurred 3 times due to weather fickleness) Few years ago I had a torn rotator cuffs (75% right, 50% left) and tried the unheated garage route, it cost me more than half my varieties, many of which I never replaced…
