An addendum: just go to your canned pantry in March or even January and pop open a jar of tomatoes and smell that smell! It smells like July. So delicious and to know we did the work months ago to start the seeds and pot them up and transplant them into the garden and tie them up, spray them, and harvest at the perfect time to can them. Mmmm, mmm. GOOD!

I’d love to hear more about how you feed and prune your apricots???
When you say astringent persimmons are the best eating you can have, do you mean American persimmons or astringent varieties of Asian persimmons?

I grew up on American persimmons and still love the flavor. That being said, I think Asian astringent persimmons are just a superior fruit. The flavor isn’t always as strong, sure, but there’s more to fruit than just flavor, and a good astringent Asian persimmon can be just as or nearly as flavorful while also having an incredible texture and juiciness.
I’m hoping to get more of the hybrids in the future partially because it’d be nice to be able to have a bit of the best of both worlds.
