Quick question Drew; I see a lot of pictures that show a pretty wide range of coloration from not a lot of red, to a whole lot! In your experience, does yours ripen to a fairly consistent flesh color year in and year out, or does it depend on your local climate conditions on any given year?
BTW, I got a very nice email response back from Burnt Ridge and in it he said the tree would be fine. He also asked me to let him know how it was packaged with regard to the damp newspaper etc, as it would help them going forward, etc.
I thought the quick response was very nice at what has to be a very busy time of year for them too.
I have not had it that long. I would say color of flesh and fruit vary by growing conditions. The hotter and drier, the more red. So mine are not very red, and the skin is pale. As pictured in a previous post. By the time it ripens here, it’s a little cold. I still love this peach, works for me fine.
Some places advertise Indian Free as peach leaf curl resistant. Ha! With the wet spring we’ve had in northern California, my Indian Free tree has very few leaves that aren’t badly curled. Still carrying a decent fruit load despite that, just hope it can carry them all the way.
