My Syzygium cumini tree won't bare fruit

I have had a Jamun tree (Syzygium cumini) for over 15 years and it has never bared any fruit. I live in Florida (zone 9b) and one time we had a bad freeze and the tree dried up and had to be cut down, but it grew back from the trunk and it has been 5 years since then, and nothing has grown. Is there any way I can induce fruiting?

You might read this thread and consider shaping the tree for fruiting. Chances are the new growth was vigorous and straight up after the die back Bending branches down promotes fruiting, but why?.
