New Apple Seedling Varieties

@Paul-VA

When my pears and apples are small i have tricks i use to breed in disease resistance. I take a branch infected with fireblight brushing it across all seedlings which generally kills 99% of all seedlings. The 1% remaining are then accessed for desirable traits. Apples like clarks crabapple have some disease tolerance to everything. It needs sprayed with a fungicide. enterprise, liberty, honeycrisp and others make great breeding material. Some of the other apples from my breeding project are going on 10+ years now never being sprayed. There are several seedlings i grow. @39thparallel apple is very disease tolerant and i have had good luck with haralson , prarie spy , fameusse aka snow apple, and a few others like wolf river. Breeding apples isn’t easy. I hope someone pickss up where i left off with the apples. I had my success and accomplished my goal. The world has several apples i gave them for free. They can now do whatever they want with them since they are not patented or trademarked. You can breed them, graft them, share them etc. The clarks crabapple is exceptional. Mike at 39th parallel kindly agreed to propagate them ussing no patent or trademark. I believe apples are something you share with friends, family, church, homeless, less fortunate , people who have none. I think having great apples to eat should be available to everyone not jusst the wealthy. Im totally against club apples, trademarks, but not patents necessarily. The bible says a man is worthy of his hire. Some people make a living breeding apples and im not against that. As long as people like us exist to give away others for free or with exxpired patent. People like @39thparallel does not patent anything but still makes a living selling trees. @Paul-VA the only thing i ask of anyone is to be as generous as you can afford to be with clarks crabapple. I have aa job i dont need money or make my living growing fruit. It is a blessing i have i can share with other people.
