I think it’s like this: There’s this restriction in Oregon re: NCGR pear trees (?). It sounded to me that J. Postman thought the disease suspicion was unsubstantiated, but nevertheless no pear scions are being distributed in (most or all of ?) Oregon and Europe. I picked pears at NCGR Corv. with the HOS last Summer and then came back and picked not-pears, and took the picked pears out of the cooler for the HOS tasting time. So it didn’t seem to affect that process. The HOS scion cutting coming up is for not-pear scions.
Right, my understanding is that after the initial concerning tests, more recent tests have come back negative (clean). They are cleared to ship pear scions again. But the state of Oregon has its own laws and requires 2 years of clean tests before material can be distributed in the state.
So folks in Oregon have to wait until next year.
Matt,
The first order I placed I received but I’m not holding out much hope of getting that second order. Corvallis does a fantastic job and if I don’t receive those scions it was 100% my fault. I should not of had an after thought and put a second order in in the first place. Sometimes I forget stuff and this was one of those situations.
The second order showed up over a week ago. Corvallis does a fantastic job!
Santa gave you everything you wanted after all. Even that Red Rider bee-bee gun!
