It is plastic mesh. I do have gaps at the bottom so squirrels might be a problem.

Looks like I might need to put something around the bottom. I don’t have bricks but I do have some heavy wood.

I’m hoping that I can let the berries stay on the bushes long enough to get sweet. Previously as soon as they started turning the birds were there ready to start picking.

Not me, the birds never seen berries before, they just ignore them. One robin figured it out, the rest leave them alone. After netting the robin left and I could remove netting again.
