I sure hope that happens here as well. I’m adding Oh My and Oh Yes, so hopefully the young vines do okay with the lantern flys nibbling if I can’t keep them off.

They didn’t damage any of my grapes. They were so infatuated with my walnut trees that I guess they didn’t notice. All and all they never did any real damage to anything other than leaving a disgusting sticky residue on the things they hung out on. From what I observed they are more like sap suckers.

Yes they are way less bad than 3 years afo here. Havent seem one yet

You can get the Sawyer permethrin spray and treat your own clothes. It last a few washes.

I’ll have to try this. The babies are so fast it’s near impossible to get them. I tried electric zappers last year, but that was a fail.

Saijo persimmon at my parents house got zapped bad by the frost. There’s a few new leaves coming out in some spots tho. But seems like it killed all the stuff that had just started to leaf out. Along with the jujube

Several of my persimmons, my grapes, and my paw paws all got hit really hard. I am questioning whether the grapes survived and I am not completely sure about a couple persimmons.

This was the worst late frost I have ever experienced.

Definitely the worst late freeze I’ve experienced too. Check out Purdue’s Freeze Date Tool . For me, it shows there’s only been 3 other frosts in the last 75 years that were later and as cold or colder. It’s also interesting seeing the trends in some of the other graphs showing how the growing season has lengthened significantly.

mine too.

Has cedar apple rust (CAR) started to show up at all for you guys? I have a spot or two on a few trees, but nothing crazy like last year. I assume that is because it has been so dry.

When does it usually start for you all?

Benefit of the dry weather

It usually hits my service berries around now

My triumph has leaves spotted with it as of last week. Serviceberries are clean.

There are way too maybe 42, 43 lows in the next 10 days for my comfort. This spring is killing me.

Just saw it on my serviceberries yesterday, though I know the CAR pressure is high in my area

Look again, it’s mid 30’s.
