I’m actually using what looks like an old garbage can lid…about 50cm diameter so I see birds both drinking and bathing on it.

@DennisD do you use tree tanglefoot at all? Im hoping it’ll also discourage squirrels from bothering to climb up once they touch the sticky stuff even for a moment.

No I have ordered a sqirrelinator, I will trap them and haul them far away

You could eliminate a step by simply dropping the big rock on its head.
