Orange Rust On Brambles

I’m not sure. We had no problems for a good while then just a few infected plants, We used to remove the infected plants quickly but the OR spread through the rows over about 10 years on Navaho but never infected the adjacent rows of another variety

We also changed from removing the old prunings and burning them to flailing the old prunings in place.

One easy way to spread the disease is by mowing over an infected and spreading the spores up and down the row.

Navaho has now been noted in a couple of publications/nursery descriptions to be susceptible to orange rust, which is why I decided not to plant it. Others like Arapaho and Ouachita are resistant.

Just got these from mayas garden on Etsy. I’ve picked off a bunch of leaves already but it has rust fungus.

Kokanee raspberry

@krismoriah did you say that it lives in the plant crowns? :sob: i wonder if this is why no one carries kokanee anymore

Yellow Rust is managable… pruning out the floricanes and immunox should work.

Its not systemic… and spead by spores… so for now i would keep it away from your other things in triage… after removing all canes.
