Pears will not Spring Flower

I summer pruned my (3 yr old) pears and apples on Aug 15 this year… and many of them bloomed mid Sept.

Hopefully they bloom again this spring.

In answer to do I top dress with biochar - No I have not but since boron is a recommendation I think the biochar may contribute to binding said amendment to my sandy soil. :+1:t2:

March was the beginning of the 5th year my 4 pear trees were growing, planted in the ground. For the first time we had spring flowers, prolific on 2 and some on the third one. One is still holding out. Thanks for the advice and it’s great to have fruit sets on those trees now. :folded_hands:

My Harrow Crisp went with a 50/50 split, top shoots are blooming, bottom (older wood) has zero flowers. It’s a first year for this tree to bloom.

yeah, definitely unusual case, considering that bottom wood is a year or two older. Tree was planted spring 2023.
