They likely buy and resell them. They only sell potted when i go to that website. They are out of stock on the 3 gallon containers btw.
They do have the 5 gallon. I hadn’t hit the button to see availability update for the 3 gal.
$40 for a 5 gallon tree and $46 for shipping.
I’ll pass…I was planning on using it for scion if I could get the small one.
Hi guys,
I live one hour away from the nursery that offers the Perdue pear in Texas.
I’m going to buy one and I’d be happy to share some scions as it grows. I don’t mind shipping them.

I’d like a stick if you still have some. If not, next year. Just one is fine as my trees are small.
I’ll graft it to a Hood I just planted this year. Or if you want the Monterrey which I will plant and prune for espalier this spring. Either or both.
PM me.
I just got and planted two bare root Perdue pears from texaspecannursery.
I will keep yall informed and happily give a few sticks
for free as they grow.

Update about my bare root Perdue trees. One seems to be doing fine, the other one has some cambium damage above the graft, which I estimate to be 40-50% of the circle, so the tree is not girdled (although here it’s very humid so I’m concerned about the tree rotting out…).
Do you think it will survive?
Thanks
Protect the trunk from further damage and it should be fine
Looks like a little sunburn or fireblight. Sunburn is more likely so i would paint it with some latex.
