Asian persimmons are in full bloom here. Just a few flowers (male and female) on my California Maru. Chocolate has a couple hundred male flowers and three females

Females are easy to distinguish not just by their solitary nature, but also their size and differently shaped sepals:
My Chocolate seems to be producing what look like hermaphroditic flowers too with a stigma and ovary as well as functional stamens. We’ll see if these turn into fruit:
Fun discovery yesterday: Kaki stamens act like salt shakers where the pollen is dispensed when the flower is moved unlike other flowers that simply have their pollen on anther surfaces. You can see the pollen grains falling from the flower in this frame of a video I took:
