Pluerry: Plum x Cherry...anyone grow them?

They are long gone. I don’t keep fruits I don’t love for long. There’s always something new to try. Though not really any more, I’ve tried nearly everything I am interested in.

Would a peach work as root stock for pluerry?

I had -21 on Jan.24. Read an article hinting that temps less than 24 before and after the sub-zero ones might still have blossoms and fruit. Maybe. A hopeful maybe.

I have had Flavor Punch for 4 years now. No fruit. It could be that there is not enough chill in my area for this tree. It gets one more year and then it will get the axe, if there is no fruit or the fruit sucks.

I have 3 grafts of AU Cherry Plum on my Shiro and AU Rosa trees.

Someone here said AU Cherry held fruit after a frost when other plums did not.

I need all the help I can get with late frosts and plums or Cherry plums.

I have a AU Cherry and I feel it is a great tree for being carefree. It has great rot resistance, and the ripe fruit holds on the tree. It also has a good shelf life. I’m not sure how old my tree is, maybe 5 years old. It has yielded heavy for the last two years. I can’t speak for how well young fruit survives frosts. My best defense against early frost is to plant in areas that get shade in late winter/early spring. They bloom at least a week later and then still get plenty of sun later in the year when the sun is higher in the sky.
