I repaired my netting with fishing line using a large upholstery needle. Use dark line so you can see what you are doing. It was very time consuming. Binder clips also work, but make it hard to fold the nets for storage, so I just use them on holes I find I have missed.

My 30% shade, woven, black polypropylene netting lasted me for 40 years with few holes. None big enough for a bird to get through. That wasn’t continuous use. Nothing lasts that long. But substantial use for shade, hail netting, and critter exclusion. I even used it to keep stink bugs off peaches and nectarines. It always did what I hoped it would. And it didn’t tangle birds or snakes or get caught on tree limbs. Sometimes it was draped right on top of an apricot or nectarine tree.
This is what mine looked like. It had the taped edges and grommets. I can’t find 30% but for meaningful shade 40-50% is more appropriate. 30% is good for exclusion.
