And sometimes too much protection kills too… i think i killed one yangmei trying to protect from hot sun… her young leafs burn easily but too dark can kill too…
I think it should be able to handle short frosts of -6 C - but I am not sure the fruit can handle it.
From what I have seen myself here both in the greenhouse and outside, if you have some barrier of leaves above the plant that can really make a difference when it freezes, no matter the temperature.
So the ideal place would be in full ground in a sheltered spot with a larger tree above it or a house to the north of it, but with the sun being able to reach it from the south.
Do you have a link to this etsy seller? I might want to get a few of these myself. I believe the lowest I get is around a rare mid-upper teens night, and its very rare for temps to stay freezing. Plus, it’s not terribly uncommon for the real cold to wait until feb-march so maybe I’ll be able to get fruit.
